Tapered Insulation
Tapered insulation serves two main purposes; to drain and insulate dead-level roof decks. While achieving an adequate r-value in your insulation is important, it is as important that roofs have what is termed as ‘positive drainage’. Positive drainage ensures that an adequate slope exists to drains and scuppers so that the amount of water which sits or ponds on your roof system is minimized, with the roof system being clear of standing water. In many cases, warranties can be null and void in the event that positive drainage is not present and standing water results in a roofs premature deterioration. By ensuring positive drainage one increases the life expectancy of their roof system.
ARTE Roofing’s staff will analyze your existing roof deck slope, drain and scupper locations, and work with leading tapered insulation manufacturers to establish an insulation design plan for your roof system. An investment in tapered insulation will increase the likelihood that your roof system performs both to and beyond the warranty period.
